Procedure
• Removes loose, sagging abdominal wall skin resistant to
tightening through exercise.
• Outpatient surgical procedure utilizing general anesthesia.
• Incisions are made in the abdominal area in order to remove
excess skin.
Who Is A Candidate?
• Women or men who are unable to tighten abdominal skin through
exercise.
• Individuals with abnormal relaxation of the anterior abdominal
wall.
Intended Results
• A more flattened abdominal/midsection area.
• More pleasing body contour.
Recuperation
• Patients return home wearing a compression garment or abdominal
binder; this garment is worn for four to six weeks to help reduce
swelling and hold the skin in place while the incisions heal.
• Discomfort is generally controlled with oral medication
and a pain pump that releases local anesthesia, greatly reducing
discomfort.
• Bruising and swelling lessens significantly after two –
three months.
• Patients are normally able to return to work after two –
four weeks
